Commentary on Shrimad Bhagvad Geeta (Gita) BG: 12.11
Starting from verse 12.8, Lord Krishna advised Arjun about three ways for his well-being. In the third way, He suggested Arjun to work for Him. But, this requires a pure and determined mind. Those who haven’t yet realized their connection with God and haven’t made God-realization their life’s goal may find it hard to work for His happiness.
So, Lord Krishna now offers a fourth option for well-being. He says, “Arjun, continue your duties as usual, but detach yourself from the outcomes.” Such detachment can cleanse our mind from negative influences and elevate it to a higher state of goodness.
Renouncing the results of our actions can help us let go of worldly attachments and strengthen our intellect. Then, with a purified mind, we can better understand spiritual wisdom and progress in our spiritual practices.
