It is acknowledged, by Bhakt Prahlad (in Shrimad Bhagavat Puran / Sarg 7 / Ch. 5: 30 & 24), that pure Bhakti is expressed through these nine processes: hearing and chanting about the divine name, form, qualities, pastimes, and glories of Lord Vishnu; remembering Him; serving His lotus feet; offering respectful worship with the sixteen types of paraphernalia; praying to Him; becoming His servant; considering Him the best friend; and surrendering everything to Him (in other words, serving Him with body, mind, and words).
One who dedicates their life to serving Vishnu through these nine methods should be considered the most learned person, as they have attained complete knowledge.

Why Idol – the tangible form – for worship?
Worshiping a deity through Idol – a tangible form – is more accessible and effective approach. The concept highlights that a physical representation of the Divine can assist individuals in connecting with and experiencing the spiritual side of God. Humans can attach feelings and ideas to things. In worship, idols become symbols representing the divine. When we worship idols, we form emotional bonds with them.
Like talking to a photo of a far-away loved one, symbols help us express feelings and thoughts. They act as messengers, bridging the gap between the physical and spiritual. Just as children attribute qualities to dolls in play, using symbols is a natural part of human development. Symbols, such as idols, play a crucial role in forming emotional connections, serving as intermediaries for communication, and aiding in human to attain Moksha – the liberation.
